Each year the Council’s Annual Return is audited by an auditor on behalf of the Auditor General for Wales. Any person interested has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the Annual Return and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them.

These documents for Langstone Community Council are to be made available on reasonable notice by application between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm on Mondays to Fridays (excluding public holidays) commencing on 6th June 2016 and ending on 1st July 2016.

Local electors and their representatives also have the opportunity to question the Auditor General about the accounts and the right to attend before the Auditor General and make objections to the accounts or any item in them. Written notice of an objection must first be given to the Auditor General via the auditor and a copy sent to the Council.  The auditor on behalf of the Auditor General can be contacted at the address below for this purpose from 4th July 2016 until the audit has been completed.

The Council's audit is being conductred under the provisions of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004, the Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2014 and the Auditor General for Wales’s Code of Audit Practice.

NOTICE OF CONCLUSION OF AUDIT AND RIGHT TO INSPECT THE ANNUAL RETURN

Annual Return for the year ended 31 March 2015

Section 29 of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004

Accounts and Audit (Wales) Regulations 2005 (SI 2005/368) as amended by the Accounts and Audit (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 (SI 2010/683)

The audit of accounts for Langstone Community Council for the year ended 31 March 2015 has been concluded.

The Annual Return is available for inspection by any local government elector for the area of the Council on application to Heather Jones (Clerk), Room 41, Merlin House,
Langstone Business Park, Newport NP18 2HJ between 10am and 1pm on Tuesday - Thursday (excluding public holidays), when any local government elector may make copies of the Annual Return.

Copies will be provided to any local government elector on payment of £1.00 for each copy of the Annual Return. A copy may also be viewed and downloaded from Langstone Community Council’s website HERE.

1.    Date of announcement: 17 June 2015

2.    Each year the Council’s Annual Return is audited by an auditor appointed by the Auditor General for Wales.  Any person interested has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the Annual Return and all bboks, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts, etc. relating to the accounting statements.  For the year ended 31 March 2015, these documents will be available on reasonable notice on application to:

commencing on 1 July 2015 and ending on 28 July 2015.

3.    Local Government Electors and their representatives also have:
•    The opportunity to question the auditor about the accounts; and

The auditor can be contacted at the address in paragraph 4 below for this purpose on 31 July 2015 and after that date will be available at the address given at paragrapg 4 below until the audit has been completed.
