Local Access Forum
Are you interested in becoming a member of a new Local Access Forum for Newport?

The council is re-establishing a statutory Local Access Forum, as required under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.

Consisting of between 10 and 22 members, the function of the forum will be to advise the council, National Resources Wales and others about the improvement of public access to land in the area for the purposes of open-air recreation.

The forum will meet at least twice a year, possibly more. It is important that members can attend all meetings, as deputies will not be permitted.

These are unpaid positions, but expenses can be claimed.

Closing date: 7 October 2025

It seems the recent party in the park (supporting Langstone School PTA and in partnership with LCC) on the 23rd August went very well and a good time was had by all.

See the Parks page for some photos of the event
