Welcome to Langstone Community Council

Langstone Community Council serves the villages of Langstone , Llandevaud and Old Hamlet of Llanmartin

The villages comprise approximately 2,000 homes and 5,000 residents. There are 2 village halls that provide the Community with venues for holding meetings, activities and clubs as well as arranging a variety of shows and events throughout the year.

 Langstone Community Council is proud to announce it has been honored with two Certificates of Commendation at the prestigious One Voice Wales National Conference and Awards Ceremony, held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Royal Welsh Showground

The national awards, sponsored by Unity Trust Bank, celebrate the best in grassroots local government , showcasing initiatives from town and community councils across Wales.

Langstone Community Council stood out among a record number of competitive entries from across the country, securing commendations for Best Older Persons Initiative and Best Youth Consultation.

Speaking on the achievement, the Chair of Langstone Community Council’s Finance committee, Cllr Iain Riley who attended said:

"We are thrilled to receive this recognition from One Voice Wales. This is a testament to the work, and dedication of our councillors & staff. Over the past year, we have focused on rebuilding our relationships with the community and creating a more engaged council for the residents of Langstone. To have those efforts acknowledged on a national stage is incredibly rewarding."

The recognition marks a significant milestone for Langstone Community Council as it continues to drive forward positive local initiatives, rebuild robust local partnerships, and ensure that the voices of its residents are central to its future projects.

The Council extends its gratitude to One Voice Wales and the residents of Langstone whose ongoing support makes these achievements possible
