Notice of the need to temporarily close/restrict entry to Centenary Park from 7 am Monday 7th November to enable refurbishment and installation of new equipment.

The work is expected to be ongoing for around 4 weeks (weather dependent) and will take place typically throughout Monday- Friday evening. Therefore it is hoped that park will be able to be open on weekends.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and understand that this restriction will be disappointing but is for the eventual betterment of the facility for the community.

Hi all, just to inform you that we have amended the poster below in light of a couple of things.

1. that there had been some concerns and disappointment within the Council itself that the timing of the event on a weekday school nioght might make it a problem for "the little ones " attending. So we are looking at a sort of 2-stage operation with carol singing for the little ones (and adults as well of course) starting at an earlier time, but following it up with a fabulous concert by the Newport Male Voice Choir.

2. With one eye (or at least an ear)  on the weather during the last LCC meeting concerns were raised about what options we would have if weather was poor on the day. Cllr Newport made enquiries with the local hotel (Coldra Court) and they have graciously offered to actually host the concert in the foyer.
